    Very interesting list of authors. What is feminism? Did you find "The Sparrow" to be feminist? Has Maria Doria Russell written anything else? Do you consider most books by women to be feminist, by definition?

      "What is feminism?" is *huge* in scope. As a system of ideas, Feminism is stil evolving and diversifying. There are whole academic departments at universities that embody that question.

      Some quickie answers:
      A) Feminism is the idea that women are people.
      B) Feminism is anti-sexism.
      C) Feminism is the study of unequal power relationships of social groups under patriarchy.
